~The Empennage~

From here you will see how the Empennage is constructed on the Quickbuild.  The Horizontal and Vertical Stablilizers are completed, you just have to build the rudder, and mount!

Here is where the drilling becomes aerodynamically critical..you do not want to mess up a hole here!  Lots of measuring, clamping, leveling (horizontal stabilizer).   Horizontal Stabilizer incidence angle being set before drilling:

Here is a way to set the vertical angle of the Vertical stabilizer.  Once you get the height correct, you can pivot the VS on this cleco.

The fit of the tips are pretty simple...just drilled and clekoed.

The elevator and horizontal stabilizer fiberglass tips have to be fitted and capped off with some creative fiberglass work. The cap in the bottom photo took a couple of trial and error jobs.  I ended up using a foam block taped to the end of the tip, and put fiberglass lay-ups from the inside.
