~Pitot/Static System~

The pitot/static system supplies the airspeed indicator,  and altimeter, with pressure and airspeed measurements.

These are the static ports.  This is where the altimeter gets its pressure reading, and assists the pitot tube in giving airspeed information to the airspeed indicator.

Detail showing the static lines.  I elected to purchase these nicely machined static ports from Cleaveland Tool.  I wasn't crazy about using a pop rivet as my static port, which comes in Van's static kit.
