~Control Mechanisms~

This part is kind of fun, because when you are done, you can really sit in your plane and move the control surfaces around and make those airplane noises that everyone talks about!

This is where it all starts: The Grips.  These grips are scaled down from an F-4 grip.  They are very functional and comfortable. You can get them from Infinitiy Aerospace.  Mine will be customized with the following functions:

Engine Start, Elevator Trim, Flip Flop Frequencies, Push to talk (the fire button),  Flaps up/down, strobes, landing lights.

Ammendment!  After doing all the wiring (click here to see it)  for the flaps and electric trim, I decided I did not need all of these functions.  Looks like all I will have will be: Elevator trim, Push to talk, Flaps up/down, autopilot disconnect, and maybe strobes/landing lights.   I figure those other switches are just a half-an-arms-reach away, and I could use the excercise!

This connector on the trim servo called a Molex Connector.  They work very well, and are easy to install.  You can use one for just about anything, because you can get them with different amounts of connectors.  You can get them from a catolog from Digi-Key. We must boycott soldering whenever possible!
