~The Shop~

Here is my shop.  Ok, really it is a two car garage that was converted into a tempory aircraft factory.  When one does not have the luxury of building in a hanger, you have to be creative with space.  I really admire those who can do this in a one car garage, or even an apartment!

Here is what I have done to save space.  I went by a fire station and asked if they had an old fire hose they could give me.  They did, and it worked great for hanging the wings on the wall!

Here is a way you can hang your plans.  I got the idea from Larry Olson, who is building an RV-6.  My plans were starting to get torn up laying on a table.   This is also a good method if you are standing accross the room, and need to glance at a drawing.

This hanging shelf works well to store all the control surfaces on, and it keeps them in good shape, out of the way.

Here is something I did to aid in working inside and on the top of the fuse.  It is done with an engine stand and some angle iron.  The back is supported by a roll-around shop chair...this works out well when you want to move it around to clean the shop!
